First Date Questions What To Ask Your Date?
A list of first date questions can be really useful…if you and your date are both
feeling nervous sometimes the conversation can dry up.
If you find this happening to you stay calm and ask your date a question.
This should
get you both talking again!
The questions below are helpful suggestions...
...you can add to them or ignore them to suit
you!
- What's your job? Do you enjoy it?
- Do you play any sport?
- How was your day?
- Where do you live?
- What's your favourite movie/TV show?
- What's your favourite type of food?
- Where do your parents live? What do they do?
- Are you reading any books at the moment?
- Do you have any brothers and sisters? Where do they live? What do they do?
- Where did you last go on holiday?
- What's your dream holiday destination?
- Do you have any hobbies?
- What's your star sign?
- Do you support any sports teams?
- What type of music do you like?
These are general questions, you can also ask questions that are more specific like
'Do you like this type of music?'
'Did you hear about such and such on the news?'
or 'What do you think of the weather we're having at the moment?'
Or why not try and be a bit creative? This should make you both laugh and help you
relax. Here are some suggestions…
- If you were invisible for the day what would you do?
- Who would you most like to meet and why?
- What would you do if you won the lottery?
- If you were an animal what would you be and why?
You'll really get to know the other person better…and you might even find things
out about yourself!
And remember, only ask someone a question you're prepared to answer
yourself…
...you never know if they'll turn the tables on you! So it's probably better to
avoid personal or sexual questions!
When you ask a question it's really important to listen to the answer, it's polite and
respectful and you'll be learning about your date!
What you also want is for the conversation to flow in a natural way…if you've been
listening this is much easier!
You really don't want to just be firing off one question
after another…it's great to seem interested in someone but no one likes to feel that
they're being interrogated!
If you're a bit unsure about the conversation flowing freely read our
article on first date conversation.
So memorise these first date questions or write them down and take them with
you…and let you and your date enjoy getting to know each other!
